Speech Therapy

Our speech therapists assess, diagnose, treat and help prevent disorders related to speech, language, voice, swallowing and fluency. Our therapists work with individuals who cannot produce speech or cannot produce them clearly; those with speech rhythm and fluency problems, such as stuttering; those with problems understanding and producing language; and those with cognitive communication impairments, such as attention, memory and problem solving disorders. Specialized treatment areas include:

— Speech disorders, resulting from neurological diseases
— Deficits in thought processing and/or language
— Aphasia: a language disorder resulting from a stroke
— Dysarthria: weakness of the oral muscles
— Dysphagia: difficulty eating
