Performance Rehab Senior Care delivers various senior care programs to help ensure that each resident has access to services aimed at helping them maintain their highest level of function and independence.

Physical Therapy

shutterstock_72977014Performance Rehab Senior Care’s physical therapists provide services that help restore function, improve mobility, relieve pain and prevent or limit permanent physical disabilities. Our goal is to restore, maintain and promote overall fitness and health through exercise and functional skill training. Focus is on mobility, strengthening, range of motion, balance and coordination exercises in conjunction with the use of various modalities such as electrical stimulation, ultrasound and hot/cold applications to help patients reach their goals.

Occupational Therapy

Performance Rehab Senior Care’s occupational therapists work to help residents improve their ability to perform the tasks of daily living. Focus is on developing, recovering and maintaining daily living skills. Therapists help to improve basic motor functions and reasoning and also help compensate for any permanent function loss. The goal is to help patients lead a more independent, productive and satisfying life.

Specialized treatment areas include:

— Self-care (eating, bathing, dressing, etc.)
— Functional mobility & body mechanics (wheelchair, tub, bed, toilet, etc.)
— Continence management
— Upper body strength, coordination & hand function
— Work simplification, energy conservation & joint protection techniques
— Perceptual & cognitive skills
— Apartment modification recommendations

Speech Therapy

Our speech therapists assess, diagnose, treat and help prevent disorders related to speech, language, cognitive communication, voice, swallowing and fluency. Our therapists work with individuals who cannot produce speech sounds or cannot produce them clearly; those with speech rhythm and fluency problems, such as stuttering; those with problems understanding and producing language; and those with cognitive communication impairments, such as attention, memory and problem solving disorders.

Specialized treatment areas include:

— Speech disorders resulting from neurological diseases such as Parkinson’s disease
— Deficits in thought processing and/or language
— Aphasia: a language disorder resulting from a stroke in the left hemisphere of the brain
— Dysarthria: weakness of the oral muscles causing various degrees of slurring of speech
— Dysphagia: difficulty in eating due to swallowing deficits
